FRIENDS EFFING FRIENDS EFFING FRIENDS

Call this "Behind the back friends with benefits" as director Quincy Rose takes a shot at today's social tendency to date as a group. Friends involved with friends who suddenly aren't dating but still friends.

It revolves around three friends - Jacob (Tyler Dawson), Laura (Jillian Leigh) and Steve (Graham Skipper) - who are so close that Jacob and Steve frequently converse about each others penis'. Jacob is flying solo while Steve is living with Laura in a long term relationship. Steve and Laura turn Jacob on to Sarah (Christina Gooding) for professional reasons that quickly progress to romantic reasons once Jacob sees how lovely Sarah is.

She hires him to edit her book and keep her "plumbing" clear at the same time. But she has a roommate about to take off to discover the world - Camille (Vanessa Dubasso) - whom Jacob is immediately attracted to in a horn-dog way. Faster than Linda Lovelace could say "It's so big!" everyone is hitting the sack - except Steve who has broken up with Laura for a fling with another woman.

After opening scenes that seemed erratic in dialogue, the talent seemed to get into sync which is needed with a small ensemble. Dawson, comes off well as the guy who all the girls want to nail. but Dubasso is the most fun character.

Rose shows some potential as a director, especially with pacing and editing.

"Friends Effing Friends Effing Friends" is a fun, tightly crafted light romantic drama that borders on porn but manages to keep it clean. It provides an interesting study of millennials. Available on VOD (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Youtube, Vudu Movies)   -- GEOFF BURTON
