NERUDA

Director Pablo Larrain has been busy lately. After a couple of drama's centered around his homeland of Chile - "No" and "The Club" - he churned out "Jackie" with Natalie Portman in the lead as Jackie Kennedy. Portman's performance has been critically acclaimed and may earn her an award or two.

In addition to "Jackie", Larrain revisits his homeland in 1948 when it looked like Communism was about to take hold. He examines the interesting life of Pablo Neruda, a poet who became a senator while supporting Communism, who wound up on the run when Communism was outlawed.
